The Proposal

April 18, 2004. It was a Sunday morning just like every other Sunday morning or so I thought. Jacob played on the worship team so he was there early. I remember when he greeted me that morning he seemed a little jumpy. He ran up to me with a big smile on his face gave me a quick hello kiss and was off to the stage to start the service. Worship was the same as every other Sunday, but one thing was different; the band stayed on the stage after it was over. Pastor Mike came up and said "now we have a special song". That's when Jacob took over. He had written me an engagement song.

The Big Question
I'll sing you one more song as my girlfriend.
The day is coming soon
when we won't have to say I wish you didn't have to go away
because you're the one and I'm going to stay
I always, always want to be with you
Crystal, my "the one"
I wrote this song for a reason
I'm sure you know what it is
Very soon you'll be hugging me and giving me a kiss after you see the rock that I got you Because you're the one and I'm going to stay
I always, always want to be with you
Crystal, the most beautiful girl in the world and my "the one".

I ran up on stage and gave him a big huge and than he slid down on one knee and proposed.

As I turned around to face the crowd I saw my family up in the balcony.

The rest of the day was a blur. Trumped by an amazing man, an amazing ring and the thought of planning my dream wedding.
