We left New york after 7 days and headed to San Francisco. Wow, what a long flight. Wow, what a pretty flight. We landed in the San Francisco International Airport jumped in a cab headed for the Herbert Hotel. We walked into our closet..... sorry room. As we're checking things out we find out that there is no AC in our room. Coming from Florida we're thinking, "how could a hotel not have AC?." I was freaking out. We're stuck in this tiny closet with no AC. How romantic! Jacob saw this and headed down to the front desk and complained how there was no AC in the rooms. (we later found out that a lot of people don't have AC units there because the weather is so nice) They handed him a new room key and off we went to room # 2. Wow what a difference! This room was a lot bigger and had a window so we could open that and feel the cool breeze. As long as the construction workers weren't out there working. Yes this room was a heck of a lot better..... Cool even, but there was a building being built right outside our window and our window lined up perfectly with our bed and bathroom door. You get the picture. We took a tour thinking it would be as good as the one in New York. We were wrong. Our tour guide was so boring. The one thing we were really looking forward to on our tour was going to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Well that didn't go as planned there was so much fog that we couldn't see the bridge at all.
We went back later and got to see it. We even got to drive on it.
Yes we rented a car and headed to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. That was a lot of fun.I remember we went on this ride with all these little kids and we were the only ones screaming. We laughed at how nerdy the workers must have thought we were.
We also used the car to drive to Muir Woods.
And to drive along highway 1.
Let me add that we didn't get lost once.
We also explored Alcatraz,
They really should put a public restroom in there.
We walked pier 39,
Went to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum,
Walked Haight and Ashbury,
We stopped by the Tanner house for some Ice Cream,
Took a boat tour under the Golden Gate,
Visited The Exploatorium that was full of elementary students,
We stopped by the beach, but decided not to swim,
We also got to explore The Japanese Tea Garden.
So that's it. Our honeymoon. We still dream about doing it all over again. Maybe for our 10 year anniversary (hint, hint Jacob) .
